Referral partners
Your credibility is part of the transaction.
A valuable introduction needs protected relationships, clear authority and written terms before names or sensitive context are exchanged.
Public principles
Protection before introduction.
The specific fee, scope, tail, exclusivity, parties and mandate are confidential. The principles behind a fair referral relationship can be stated publicly.
Mutual confidentiality
Information about your relationships receives the same protection as information about ours.
Defined scope
The market, relationship and duration covered are written down before access is used.
Non-circumvention
The party creating access is protected against being removed from the relationship it originated.
Traceable record
The introduction, authority and agreed process are logged—not reconstructed months later.
Proportionate diligence
Identity, authority, sanctions, source and purpose checks match the relationship and risk.
Written economics
The basis, trigger and payment process are agreed privately before value is created.
The role chain
Five roles. No borrowed names.
This diagram explains the commercial relationship at role level. It does not identify a party, imply a live mandate or describe private economics.
01 · Origin
Origin
The source of the underlying opportunity, pricing or institutional access.
02 · Principal
Principal
The party with authority to grant, hold or perform the relevant commercial mandate.
03 · ChampPay
ChampPay
The in-market relationship and origination layer, acting only within documented authority.
04 · Introduced
Introduced counterparty or business
The qualified organisation brought into the opportunity through the agreed process.
05 · Referral
External referral partner
The trusted party creating access, protected by the applicable written referral terms.
Important: the chain is conceptual. Funds, authority and contracts follow the private transaction documents—not the visual order of this diagram.
Qualifying a referral
Access is useful when context travels with it.
Do not send names or confidential files in the first message. Begin with a role-level description so both sides can establish fit safely.
- Organisation type and market, without naming it.
- The problem or opportunity the relationship addresses.
- Your relationship to the organisation and authority to refer.
- Any timing or jurisdiction constraint that affects fit.
- Names, contact details or private correspondence.
- Commercial terms, pricing or transaction information.
- Customer data, identity documents or account records.
- Contracts, mandates or unpublished partner material.
